Information sessions are offered free of charge to candidates and those interested in becoming a candidate for the 2025 General Election. We encourage all nominated candidates to attend.
CCSD Trustee
Tuesday, June 17 and Thursday, Sept. 25
7 to 8 p.m. at St. John’s Centre for Arts and Culture, 15 - 12 Street N.W., CalgaryThe Calgary Catholic School District (CCSD) is hosting two information sessions for individuals interested in running or who are nominated for Trustee in the upcoming municipal election.
Topics will include:
- Understanding the role of a CCSD Trustee
- A day in the life of a Trustee
- Campaigning guidelines
- Q&A session with retiring Trustees Mary Martin and Linda Wellman.

7 to 8:30 p.m. in the Multi-purpose room, Education Centre, 1221-8 Street S.W., CalgaryThe Calgary Board of Education (CBE) invites people who are interested in running for the position of School Board Trustee in the 2025 municipal election to attend an information session.
The session will cover:
- Election information
- Board governance
- Role of Trustee and fiduciary duty
- Skills to be an effective Trustee
- A "day in the life" of a Trustee, and the first 100 days of being a Trustee
- Q&A with CBE Trustees

Mayor, Councillor, Public and Separate School Board Trustees
Elections Calgary will host two candidate information sessions – one in-person and one virtual.
This information session is intended for nominated candidates for the offices of Mayor, Councillor, Public and Separate School Board Trustee. The presentation will provide details about the election process, including voting opportunities (i.e., mail-in, vote bus, Advance Vote and Election Day), the use of an electors register, acceptable ID for voters, the role of scrutineers, ballot counting processes, recount processes and more. There will also be an opportunity for attendees to ask questions.
Session 1: In-person - Thursday, Sept. 11
Time: 6 p.m. to 9 p.m.
Location: In-person at the Central Calgary Public Library.

Session 2: Virtual - Thursday, Sept. 18
Time: 9 a.m. to noon
Location: Virtual.
